Immunology at BMJ Group
BMJ Group is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of BMJ Immunology and its companion title BMJ Connections Immunology.
Why is BMJ Group launching new journals in the immunology field?
BMJ Group is continuing to expand its journals portfolio to address the need for rigorous, reliable and globally accessible quality research across all medical fields. We recognise that immunology is an important and growing field of medicine and we are therefore launching two journals in the field – BMJ Immunology and BMJ Connections Immunology – to advance immunology research and clinical practice for a global audience. These launches will allow us to offer a suitable home for even more of the world’s medical research, with two new options now available for immunology researchers who would prefer to publish in a specialist journal rather than in one of our general medical journals.
How will these journals compare to each other?
Building on BMJ’s long-standing tradition of editorial rigour, best practice in peer review, and a commitment to impactful research, both journals will uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity and transparency, providing a platform for robust content. Both journals will align closely to find the best home for every immunology paper using BMJ Group’s Article Transfer Service, seamlessly transferring peer review reports, and saving time and effort for authors.
- BMJ Immunology will publish high impact research, reviews and educational pieces that strive to accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into tangible benefits for patient care and public health.
- Our in-house Clinical Editor will commission high quality content aligned with the journal’s vision and work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to provide a supportive review experience that enhances the clarity and impact of the work.
- BMJ Connections Immunology will be an open access journal publishing the full spectrum of robust, reproducible, original research. As part of the BMJ Connections series, this journal aims to foster collaboration within the medical research community and drive meaningful, real-world impact.
- Our in-house Research Editor will work closely with the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board to provide a rigorous, transparent and efficient review experience.
