At least 10 doctors and five other healthcare workers have been arrested and detained in Iran, with one facing a potential death sentence, human rights groups and doctor organisations warn.It comes as the nation continues to be rocked by anti-regime protests which started in late December.Norway based rights group Hengaw said in a statement1 on 27 January that Alireza Golchini, a surgeon from Qazvin in northwestern Iran, was arrested on 10 January for providing medical care to injured protesters.He is reportedly facing charges of waging war against God, which carries a risk of execution. Golchini was severely beaten during the arrest and several of his teeth were broken, Hengaw said.In the days before his arrest, Golchini posted on social media offering to provide medical help to people injured in the protests.
