BMJ Group double dipping policy
Our policy
At BMJ Group, we strive to price our journals fairly and, in particular, to avoid customers paying a subscription fee for content that has been made open access (OA) via article processing charges (APCs).
For journals which publish subscription articles and open access articles, the journal’s subscription list price will be only affected by changes in non-OA content. Open access articles will not be considered when setting the subscription list price and, similarly, the APC will not be affected by non-OA articles.
When setting subscription prices we take a number of factors into consideration including: changes in non-OA content; changes in the number of journals, issues etc; usage patterns; changes in quality; costs; and other economic factors.
