Genetics and genomics at BMJ Group

BMJ Group is delighted to introduce BMJ Connections Clinical Genetics and Genomics, the companion title to Journal of Medical Genetics

How will these journals compare to each other?

Building on BMJ’s long-standing tradition of editorial rigour, best practice in peer review, and a commitment to impactful research, both journals will uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity and transparency, providing a platform for robust content. Both journals will align closely to find the best home for every genetics and genomics paper using BMJ Group’s Article Transfer Service, seamlessly transferring peer review reports, and saving time and effort for authors.

Journal of Medical Genetics (JMG) is an established journal in the field, publishing high-impact research that advances the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of genetic conditions.

  • Provides authors with the opportunity to enhance their reputation and influence, engage in critical dialogues, and help drive meaningful change in the field.
  • Offers a platform for authors to engage with key opinion leaders and be part of shaping the future of genetics.

BMJ Connections Clinical Genetics and Genomics is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of human genetics and genomics.

  • Covers molecular genetics and genomics of disease, epigenetics and the non-coding genome, pharmacogenomics genetic counselling and ethics, rare diseases and orphan genetic disorders and more.
  • As a companion title to JMG, it offers authors a trusted platform to publish sound science and ensure valuable research reaches a broad, engaged audience.
  • Aims to foster collaboration within the medical research community and drive meaningful, real-world impact.
